The new poll: The Railways

A slender majority of people wanted to see the NHS retain political control by the government. Maybe a poll asking whether the NHS should be taken away from nationalisation completely would have produced a different result? One for the future maybe...
A new poll has started and is likely to cause some debate - it already has with myself and bgp. Is the solution to the railways to:
a) Renationalise them
b) Complete privatisation with no subsidies for lines not in profitable demand
c) Keep them the way they are
Please feel free to leave comments on the subject. I have already heard from one transport enthusiast who would like to see the lines completely open up to competition to multiple operators with firms bid for individual train times. That is to say, Virgin could operate the 8:23 from Reading to Waterloo and then SWT could operate the 8.37 from Reading to Waterloo. I would imagine my transport friend would vote for option 2...
